Being the ULTIMATE team member!
As you’ll know from your interview we like to call our Supervisors the ultimate team members! What does this mean? Well essentially, you are in a unique position where you are on the ground, being that first port of call for volunteers and also consistently interacting with the management team. You get the best of both worlds!
A HUGE part of this role is being a positive role model for volunteers. When you arrive in-country, you will have training on this, but please read through this information to give yourself a head start!

As a Supervisor, part of your role will be to role model positive behaviours to the volunteer teams, this includes, at projects and also out and about in your communities. People really will look up to you!
Working and living in a different culture means we have to do things a little differently than maybe we would at home. For example having a dress code in the homestays or having a health and safety curfew. Supervisors help our management team by encouraging volunteers to abide by our guidelines and code of conduct. And what better way of encouraging by being the shining example yourself. Please take a close look at all the documents on your portal, as a Supervisor you'll be particularly involved in:

These are guidelines that have been put in place whilst we are working professionally aboard, we always want to ensure we are doing our best to be respectful, culturally appropriate and professional. Being part of the staff team, please make sure you come ready! Don’t worry though, you’re not expected to know everything yet, your first week in-country will still be all about training, then you’ll get your specific Supervisor training after this. By coming ready you’re off to the best start!
