And here is some advice on how to cite your experience in Sri Lanka on your CV:
Volunteer Peer Mentor & Mental Health Activity Support Worker (dates)
Location: Western Province, Sri Lanka
I spent twelve weeks in Sri Lanka working as a Volunteer Peer Mentor and Mental Health Activity Support Worker. Throughout my time as a Volunteer Peer Mentor, I helped support volunteers working in some highly challenging environments, took on administrative duties and assisted the team in Sri Lanka with scheduling tasks. As a Mental Health Activity Support Worker, I worked in a psychiatric facility as well as a rehabilitation centre, running activities with service users at varying stages of their recovery. In addition to this, I taught English to youths whilst role modelling life skills to promote positive mental health and also ran therapeutic activities for at-risk children and individuals with special needs. For the duration of my time in Sri Lanka I lived with a local family and immersed myself in various vibrant, exciting Sri Lankan cultures.
We hope this helps, but please remember you can always get in touch if you need anything else.
+ Want additional interview and CV support?
As your time on placement is still fresh in your mind we'd be really grateful if you could write a short review about your experience here. This is not only helpful for future volunteers; but also helps us to keep our costs down, as word of mouth really is the most effective way to spread the word about what we do.
As a way to say "thank you" for taking this extra step and going above and beyond, we'll send you out a handy document about how you can best speak about your time on placement in interviews and on your CV.
Already written a review for us? Amazing! Simply email us on [email protected] and we will send the document straight out to you.
Thank you again and best of luck!
