The Adventure Day is a planned field trip organised by us, and takes place during your first week.

This break is designed to both challenge you and help you bond as a team. From raft building and ziplining to racing and team building games, after this fun-fuelled trip, you and your team will be able to work as one and absolutely smash those projects!

Duration:  1 day.

Activities at a glance:

Safety is the top priority for all our activities. Activities are carefully planned, tested and constantly supervised by qualified instructors at the camp. Course equipment is subject to regular on-site safety inspection and you will be trained in basic safety procedures. Each group at the Adventure Day will be accompanied by an experienced staff member.

All activities are optional and should you feel uncomfortable about taking part, please just let one of the SLV.India team know.

What to Bring

This is not a compulsory list, but volunteers have found the following items useful in the past.

+ Essentials

1x bath towel/beach towel

1x Culturally appropriate outfit (long, loose trousers and a loose t-shirt) to keep dry for travelling to and from the Jungle.

1x swim suit to be worn under clothes:

Ladies - this can be a bikini, but you'll need to wear shorts and a dark t-shirt over any swimwear.

Gents - You'll need a t-shirt to wear with your trunks too

DEET bug spray

Suncream

Toiletries - toothbrush & paste, shampoo & conditioner, shower gel etc.

Basic medical supplies - painkillers, plasters, oral rehydration salts (any medicines you normally use!)

A day bag for the jungle trek

Water bottle and torch

Clothes that are quick drying, as you can reuse clothes for multiple activities, but not if they stay wet!

+ Team Building

1x dark top (please no spaghetti straps)

1x shorts (please no ‘short shorts’)

1x pair of loose, comfy trousers

1x sturdy shoes - trainers are ideal.

+ Rafting

1x dark top (please no spaghetti straps)

1x shorts (please no ‘short shorts’)

1x swimming costume, to be worn under clothes

1x shoes, you will take these off before getting in the boat – flip flops are ideal

+ Ziplining

1x sturdy shoes - the activity isn’t particularly arduous but can be slippery and muddy. Your feet should be adequately supported.

1 pair of comfy trousers - the harnesses may rub against your thighs, so to avoid you getting hurt we recommend you cover your legs with comfy trousers, not shorts.

1x t-shirt - please cover your shoulders and knees.
