SLV.Global - What do we do?

There is no time like the present to start getting you prepped and ready to go! Therefore, between now and your start date we’ll ask you to work through these modules, which will be full of top tips, golden nuggets of information and interesting blogs, to help you get ready before you head to Sri Lanka and start your Supervisor training.

What's up first? Well, being a Supervisor you are an integral part of our Volunteer Experience Team. A key part of this is understanding what we at SLV.Global do overseas!

We’d like to go through where our useful information is. We’re sure you’ve already seen all of this, you got the job right! But, we still find it useful to go back and refresh our brains with where it all started. Please take some time to go through these valuable sources of information. This will help you feel more confident when you arrive in Sri Lanka!

+ Website

Firstly, our website is a great source of information. It's the first thing that volunteers see and give them the first glance into what we offer. Take some time to think about your first impressions of our placements, what caught your eye, what got you excited and wanting to apply?

Now use the information to become familar with what we offer volunteers when they sign up on a placement with us.

+ Information Packs

Now if we have caught potential volunteers eyes, they will often request an information pack , this will give them EVEN more information about what we offer on Placement. Please read through this information and familarise yourself with points which as:

  • What do you get from taking parton an SLV.Global Placement?
  • What does a placement schedule look like?
  • What type of projects do we work at?
  • What is the aim of our field trips and workshops?
  • What training does everyone get from an SLV.Global Placement?
  • Where do volunteers stay duringtheir placement?
  • What is/isn't included in placement fees?
  • How is doing a placement with SLV.Global unique?

So how does this fit into what you'll be doing? As part of the Volunteer Experience Team, you will be interacting with volunteers daily, working within the team to ensure we are delivering the best, quality mental health experience possible, so knowing what we offer is very important!

+ Our Five Year Evaluation

Finally, over the next few months please take some time to read over our Five Year Evaluation here. This delves into the impact we have had in Sri Lanka over the past five years. This is so helpful when inspiring volunteers and discussing how they are contributing to the promotion of positive mental health in Sri Lanka whilst being on placement with us!

If you have any questions about any of the above information, we would love to hear from you! Please feel free to give us a call in the office or send an email to [email protected]
