Tell us about your SLV.Global experience: "At first, I was really nervous to travel all the way to Sri Lanka from America with people I have never met, doing things I have never done. However, after arriving, I quickly realized that it would be an experience I never forgot. Working in mental health institutions with people who rarely saw friends or family and being able to make an impact with them was eye opening. Teaching the young children in the schools was eye opening. With far less opportunities and advancements than we have in America, the Sri Lankan people are quick to smile and to invite you into their world.”

Tell us what you gained from your SLV.Global Placement: "I was able to gain an entirely different perspective on life and a greater appreciation for the things I do have and the things I would like to help others receive. Helping others is always and will always be the best practice for a happy life."
