SLV.Global Placement: Bali Placement, June 2018

Current Role: "I continue to help out at an adults with learning difficulties club as a support worker as well as volunteering in the scouting organisation."

Tell us about your SLV.Global experience: "My time with SLV.Global in Bali was a life-changing experience. Not only did I gain an eyeopening insight in to mental health in Indonesia I learned a lot about myself and how I am capable of dealing with a lot of things I did not know I could face on my own. I also gained a lot of knowledge as to working with service users with differing mental health disorders as well as experience in a psychiatric facility. My experience with SLV.Global was very influential and I cannot wait to return."

Tell us what you gained from your SLV.Global Placement: "I learned how to be able to think on the spot as not everything goes to plan on projects as well as improve my analytical skills to asses the situations and behaviours which arise in order to identify when an individual is feeling uncomfortable or tense. It also massively improved my confidence due to running sessions and activities."
