Manju joined SLV.Global at the inception of the SLV.India program and has been our man on the ground ever since. Manju organises all accommodation, liaises with partners and ensures we all get picked up from the airport at the right time.
With over 3 years working as a youth development officer all over India, his experience supporting International volunteers is impressive. Manju has been an asset from the moment he first picked Lucy and Yasintha up at Bengaluru airport and we’re very fortunate to have him on our team.
However, it is the Mysore weekend trip that Manju’s impressive tour guide skills are put to good use. Clearly proud of his country, if you want to know the best dosa restaurant, the best time to miss the queues at Mysore Palace or how to find your way through the hussle and bussle of the market - Manju is your man.
Manju has since helped develop and implement the Program’s second week, which started in February 2018 and includes a tour through the south of India. If it weren’t for Manju’s friendly personality, knowledge of the hotspots and lovely family, the program would not have the same comfortable feel it does today.
Additionally to managing the Program’s operations, in 2019, Manju and some of our London team established and started running our new Mental Health Placement in India.
