Munnar, believed to mean ‘Three Rivers’ is a town located in the Western Ghats mountain range in the state of Kerala, at the meeting point of three mountain rivers. A popular resort town, Munnar has tea plantations, scenic buildings and exotic flowers. It’s famous for the Neelakurinji, a flower which blooms once every 12 years to colour the surrounding hills a bright shade of blue, next expected to bloom in 2018.
It’s an ideal spot for trekking and you can find yourself veiled in cloud as you explore the surrounding countryside. Munnar is also home to the peak of Anamudi, the highest point in India outside of the Himalayas.
