Systematic and Family Psychotherapy Workshop: Creative Ways of Working with Children and Families By Dr Kaanan Bhavsar.

About the speaker: Kaanan is a Clinical Psychologist who recently completed her Doctorate from the University of Surrey, UK. She specialises in working with children and their families using systemic and Narrative theories, especially to manage problems with anxiety (particularly OCD and phobia). This will be an interactive family psychotherapy workshop aimed at further developing skills and confidence in working creatively with children and their families. Attendance at this workshop will be suitable for qualified or trainee practitioners working or wanting to work with children diagnosed with mental health problems. It will also be of interest to family members of children with challenging behaviour. The workshop will draw upon CBT, systemic and narrative theories and provide a space to consider how practitioners can engage children and families in therapy through the use of art, action and playful therapeutic conversations.
